A local legendary lore of the ol ship where 29 men lost their lives when the gales of November came early. Honor, Respect, Remember the crew and the old ship that broke hauling records on the big lake they call Gitchee Gumme. At 9pm we will queue the Gordon Lightfoot song “Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” We will have the famous Edmund Fitzgerald Porter on tap that night from Great Lakes Brewing Co for $6 a pint! We will also have the beer available in a 12oz can for $5. Let’s raise a pint and sing along for the boys on the FITZ!

2nd Annual Appetizer Cook Off

Calling all local chefs! Bring your best attempt at a homemade appetizer and bring it to Max’s for a chance to win some cash! Each customer pays $5 to sample each appetizer. Each customer gets one vote for their favorite appetizer. Once the votes are tallied we will payout first, second, and third respectively. No sign up required just have you appetizer ready to serve at 2pm. Most bring a crock pot with a serving utensil. Max’s will provide plates, napkins, and silverware.

4th Annual Chili Cook Off

BRING YOUR BEST CHILI RECIPE to the bar! Starting at 2pm we will be running our annual chili cook off. Each customer pays $5 to sample each chili. Each customer gets one vote for their favorite chili. Once the votes are tallied we will payout first, second, and third respectively. No sign up required just have you crock pot of chili ready to serve at 2pm. Please bring a serving utensil. Max’s will provide cups, napkins, and silverware.
